Paano yayaman ang Pilipino Part01

By choice hindi ko ginamit ang Pilipinas sa dahilang ang Pilipino ay hindi na lang sa Pilipinas. The Pilipino is the modern Mongol with a difference. As the Mongol used Force to create an empire, us Pilipinos will create a worldwide Network with our positive qualities - hospitable, masipag at malikhain.

It is through this worldwide Network that the wealth of Pilipinos shall be made. We can already see the billions of foreign currency annually entering the Philippine economy - about $14 billion today. At simula lang ito.

And dapat tuntunin ngayon nating mga Pilipino ay kung papano magagamit ang perang ito sa pagpaunlad ng Pilipinas. Sa aking pagtingin, hindi uubra ang tradisyonal na modelo ng pagpapaunlad na hango sa World Bank-IMF kung saan nangangailangan ng paguutang. Ang nagpapautang lang ang yumayaman hindi ang umuutang. May nakita na ba kayong nangutang sa bombay na naging mas mayaman sa bombay?

What we need is a model of development that leverages the strengths of Pilipinos and that negates its weaknesses. It is my position that the Pilipino nation on its own is a viable economic entity in most human needs. I don't accept what the foreign economists say that we don't have the economies of scale to go on our own in all areas. However, I also accept that in a lot of areas we do not have, say the making of airliners that airbus and boeing has a doupoly on.

The most basic strength of the Pilipino nation is the numbers. We are I think the 12th largest nation and we are entitled, if we're good enough, to be the 12th richest nation in the world. What I'm saying is we have the numbers and we have low labor cost. Add to that the Bayanihan spirit. This is where we should base our model for development.
